CarrotEnglish.com

Carrot Korea connects Korean customers to English tutors in the U.S. and Australia and provides opportunities to practice English conversation skill with native speakers.

CarrotEnglish.com is hiring part-time people to help teach English to adults in Korea. This is slightly similar to the job at Idapted.com that I wrote about a few weeks back.

From what I understand is that the students read in English and you correct them on their pronunciation. They are looking for early morning and morning hours from 5am to 11am due to the time zone difference.

They pay monthly by Paypal.

So if you are interested in this kind of work, check here.

It’s a Sad Day for Brijit.com

It’s a sad day for the users, writers, and of I am sure the Founder of Brijit.com today. They are closing their doors due to lack of funding.

If you are not familiar with Brijit.com, they are/were a company that provided Abstracts of articles from authoritative sources such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Salon, ESPN The Magazine, and many others. The abstracts were about 100 words which would summarize and provide a brief commentary on the article at hand. One benefit of this is that it would give the reader the overview of the article and help them decide if they wanted to read the full article.

Writers would get $5 for each 100 word abstract that they wrote. For someone that loved to read articles and write these short abstracts, it is a nice work at home writing gig. All abstracts published through May 15th will be paid to the writers.

According to Jeremy Brosowsky Founder & editor-in-chief, Brijit, he is still working to find a way to be able to relaunch the service. Sure hope they do as I am sure this was quite a disappointment to the loyal readers and the writers who enjoyed writing these abstracts as well as the income it provided.

You can keep up with Jeremy and Brijit at their WordPress blog named Brijit.

Earn Money being an Online Juror

Are you a Law and Order fan? Or perhaps you just want to earn some extra money from the comfort of your home. Either way, then you may be interested to know that you can get paid for being a member of the jury virtually. There are several companies that utilize online juror’s and I will discuss two of them here.

OnlineVerdict.com states that they are now accepting online jurors. Your job will be to review legal cases online and providing your feedback via a questionnaire. Most cases last from 20 minutes to 1 hour. You are paid anywhere from $20 to $60 dollars per case depending on the length and complexity of the case.

Jurytest.net is another company that utilizes online jurors in which you can earn money being an online juror. I did not see what the pay rate is on the site, but I read on a message board that someone received $40 for a case that took them 90 minutes to complete. My understanding is that you listen to audio presentation of both sides of the case along with any associated exhibits. After you have heard all the evidence you take about 20 minutes to answer questions in a survey. You then offer your opinion about the case and the arguments.

Become an eBay Trading Assistant

If you are an eBay expert and want to help others sell their items on eBay while working at home to earn money, then I have a position to tell you about. It is a Trading Assistant position with eBay.

There are actually 2 types of eBay Trading Assistants. The first one is a Registered eBay Drop off location. This is very similar to someone who owns a consignment store. You take people’s items, list them, and sell them. You provide them with the proceeds less any fees and commissions you charge.

The 2nd one is a regular eBay Trading Assistant. While some do have store fronts, most go on location to view the merchandise, then list and sell the item. Again, the proceeds are given to the client less any fees and commissions.

In order to be considered for an eBay Trader Assistant position, you must have a minimum of 100 feedback ratings with a 98% positive rating. In the past 3 months, you must have sold at a minimum of 10 items on eBay. Going forward, you must maintain 10 sales per 3-month period. You must be an eBayer in good standard and abide by the Trading Assistant Style Guide terms.

So, if you love eBay and want to help others sell their “stuff” while also earning some cash, check out the Trading Assistant page on eBay.

Shuttershock Wants Your Photos!

Here is a unique way to make some extra money from home especially if you like taking pictures. Shuttershock will pay you to for every photo of yours that is downloaded from their site.

What is Shuttershock? It is a large subscription based stock photo agency. How can Shutterstock pay you for your photos? Well, magazine editors, web designers, and graphic artists purchase subcriptions to download photos from Shuttershock.

So, I hear you asking “how much do I earn for my photos”. You earn .25 for every download of your photo. That’s EVERY photo download!

There are other ways to earn money from the site too. If you refer a photographer to their site, you earn 3 cents of each of their downloads. Further, if you refer stock buyers (the people who buy the subcriptions to Shuttershock), you earn 20% of their subscription fee.

What I like most about this site is the fact that it is residual income. You upload your photos ONCE and each time your photo is downloaded you get .25cents over and over. Imagine if you had just one really cool and unique photo?! You could possibly make some nice money for just taking a photo and uploading it!

If you have tried Shuttershock, let me know how you are making out with it!

Work at Home - Writing Health Related Cards for Organized Wisdom

Did you know you can make extra money from home writing “Wisdom Cards” about health related topics for a company called Organized Wisdom? If you like to research, write, and have an interest in health related topics, then this work at home job may be for you.

So what kind of information does a Wisdom Card contain? The cards typically contain a definition of the disease or topic, resources for the topic, symptoms, causes, treatments, alternative treatments (i.e. holistic) if any, prevention, support groups, message boards and forum resources, medical and scientific journal articles, and clinical trials to name most of the covered areas. All of these areas are categorized in short sections with related links.

So, now you may be asking just how much do I get paid for creating one of these cards. Well, there is a sliding scale and you get rewarded for the more cards you complete. The scale is:

  • FIRST FIVE CARDS: $10 each
  • CARDS 6-10: $11 each
  • CARDS 11-15: $12 each
  • CARDS 16-25: $13 each
  • CARDS 26-50: $14 each
  • CARD 51 and BEYOND: $15 each

You get paid once you reach the $100 mark. So, basically, when you first start because you will be getting $10 a card for the first 10 ten cards, you will have to complete 10 cards for your $100. Once you move up to getting $15 per card, you will only have to complete 7 cards to earn $100.

Now, I am told to expect it to take you 2 to 2 1/2 hours to complete your first card because there is a learning curve involved. After, you get into your grove and get your system down, many say they can complete a card in 1 to sometimes 1 1/2 hours. So, this may be a nice little way to earn some extra money if you love to research, write, and have an interest in health related topics.

Now, I hear you asking “how do I apply”. Just go to www.organizedwisdom.com and look for the How to Apply link on the right hand side.
